*Does wacky dance* Although, it is weird to have a day off. Even though I have been working full time for 3 weeks now I have not gotten a regular pay check yet (I get paid this tuesday and my first paycheck was only $60 because it was just for my orientation day). So, as my pile of money *aka checking account) has a shocking way of dissapearing I am begining to feel guilty for not working more than 40 hours a week. For example--- I have off today and then Sat and Sun because I work M-F next week due to a 40 hour in class training and then I will have Sat off then work another M-F. BUT- there is a shift open on Sunday and I was tempted to take it because I just feel like having two days off in a row is like... over indulging myself. Granted- I will still have 40 hours but still... I think I am ultimately not going to take the shift for a few reasons: #1. I am planning on working a double a couple wednesdays in July to get a boost in my check and to also make up for a Sunday I am taking off at the end of July to go home and visit family. #2. This will be my first "2 days off in a row" since I started and the last as far as my eyes can see. #3. Sundays are my FAVE day because I LOVE getting the Sunday paper and reading / relaxing.
Ugh. Plus, Leo has off although according to him he will be studying most of the weekend. And I do not want to burn myself out.... Why is this such a big deal to me? lol
*burps* leo and I went out to a China Buffet today for lunch. I went and picked him up- he had an hour off- and it was soo yummy! Then I went grocery shopping and got some hamburger stuff for tomorrow (after work) and also some soda and misc things. Wow- is it me or is soda getting way more expensive all of a sudden? 24 packs are $6.99 here ON SALE and they used to be like $5.99 a couple months ago-- at least back in my lovely hometown of La Crosse.
I think I am going to take a drive over to a lake nearby with Sophie and take a little walk. Leo is in clas until 4pm and I will probably just be hanging around the apartment for the rest of the night so now is my chance to escape!! *stealthy music* ....although I am not sure what stealthy music sounds like....

Oooooh my tummy hurts. I hope that goes away semi-soon. Annnyways- kinda a long day today. But just one more day then I get Thursday off! :)
Work It has been good. The house I work at that is physically demanding (two wheelchair ladies who can not assist in anything physical and two ladies who cannot walk and need help standing, sitting, etc) realllllly drains me. I am trying to remember to bend with my knees but holy man I often break a sweat there multiple times and my back is a little sore but I have been doing pretty good. I worked there today and me co-worker and I loaded them all up and took them for a 2 hour van ride to this beautiful park that I had not seen before. Actually, Leo and I are planning on going there with Sophie this Saturday to grill out. They have Elk and Bison in a large fence and a lot of picnic areas. The ride was nice because I LOVE getting out of the house it makes the day go by so fast; however, I was sandwiched right between two ladies, one of which hit me the whole time and always yells in the car... well... she just yells period. She is over 80 and all she wants is: coffee, cookies, cereal, and to go to bed. Tomorrow I work at the mentally challenging house and there is where I often times get slightly beat up. The day is full of constantly redirecting the ladies and one of the ladies is on my heels the whole day and just hovers and grabs my arms and etc so that gets a little trying. I do love my job but after working 7-3pm 5 days a week I am exhausted. I do not have a lot of muscle tone in my arms but man they hurt--- I may be growing muscles!! ;)
Leo Leo is getting straight A's and is on the top of his class- I am not surprised. I am sooo happy he is doing well! He studies A LOT but it is paying off- which is awesome.
Des Moines I am finally learning how to get around and am slowly seeing new parts of town and I rarely take the GPS now. If I get lost I kow enough main roads to find my way back. :) LOVE my apartment- this two bedroom thing kicks ass. ;) Still tummy ache.... Mah.

So... Ima gonna try it. 6 hours of overtime twice a month. I think it is do-able. I think every other Wednesday I will work 7am-9pm. I kinda need to- many many bills and so little money to pay them with. I am only getting paid $10 and hour, overtime is time and a half and I DO NOT get double time for ANY money incentive for working holidays which is the first job where that happened. Figures.
Today work was slow but I survived. Leo and I made the lasagna and it was yummmmmy and now we are watching Iron Chef. I am going to go to sleep afterwards though because I am EXHAUSTED and I think I am getting sick.
Other than that I started my second Picoult book and so far so good.

Well, my jambalaya has to simmer for 25 minutes so I will write quick. :) My job is going well- I had today off and I work the next four days-- two days at one home and two days at the other. I am already famous at Mosaic for the mishap that I wrote about previously (the hit to the face and chunk of hair that was pulled out). So... yay? lol
Yesterday when I got done with work Leo and I went to the Des Moines Art Festival. It was awesome. We both got Gyros and walked around for awhile. Then, this morning we went back to the Farmers Market but this time with Sophie. I have some really cute pics of her playing with a Great Dane an other dogs. Today we bought a Cranberry Scone (for tomorrow morning) and a Cinnamon Roll, some sweet corn I am cooking right now, Organic Onions and Fresh Parsely I will put into my lasagna tomorrow, and also a dog treat and some lamb jerky (for Leo).
I am pretty excited to make Lasagna for the first time tomorrow and I found a recipe that requires uncooked noodles. I love kraftfoods.com :)
Other than that I went grocery shopping, did laundry, and am now making dinner. Look at how domestic I am!!!

...I have stuff to say but I will make a real post later, :)...
Theme: International Travel #1. You have the summer and plenty of money to travel abroad. Where all would you go?.......I would love to go back to Europe with Leo this time. I would also like to see Ireland and Australia.
#2. What foods would you be sure you got to eat?....... Ethnic stuff....
#3. What landmarks would you be sure you got to see?..... I would love to show Leo the Alps and go back to Munich and then a bunch of new stuff.
#4. What airline would you use?........ Yeah, I have never had a preference- I like little layovers and cheap lol
#5.Would your knowledge of other languages influence where you went? (i.e. would you be more likely to go to France if you spoke French).......Nope. I would like to work on my German again but I want to go many places where I do not speak the language.
Theme: USA Road Trip
#1. Who would you take with you on a road trip?........ Leo!!
#2. What states would you visit?.... I want to go to Maine so bad and I guess I would make little pit stops in all the states between.
#3. What national parks and/or monuments would you go see?....... An ocean and I would not mind going to New York and walking through central park and seeing the statue of liberty.
#4. Las Vegas: Overrated or a Must-See?..... Not really my kind of place. I do not like to gamble and I am not a big night life person- lol
#5. How long would you be gone?.... Well, I would love to be gone for about a month but, realisticaly, if I were to go when Leo was out of school probably, hopefully, a couple weeks.

Yay- Hell's Kitchen is on tonight-- I totally forgot.
Today So, I worked 7-3pm for my second day at 20th house. The most mellow of the four gals today went with my trainer and I to another group home to drop off their paycheck stubs. Anyways, we were only there for 10 minutes because my trainer is also my supervisor and she had a meeting shortly after so we had to get back to our house. Anyways, 'T' had a melt down, which we call 'behaviors' because she did not want to leave. We FINALLY got coaxed her out of the recliner and outside but then she ran back to the door, hit me in the face, then when I was trying to get away she grabbed a handful of my hair and PULLED IT OUT. I am talking about a LOTTTTTTT of hair. Ugh. Plus, another gal has kinda zoned in on me and grabs my arm really hard to take her to her closet to get ANOTHER shirt. Often times when she is outside she will just take off her shirt and walk around in her bra.... Granted- I have often wanted to go topless but darn societal norms-- I envy her for being oblivious to them but STILL---- our neighbors are not!
Other than that after work Leo and I met at Starbucks and shared a coffee then found a brand new awesome grocery store and got some food. Leo is now studying and tomorrow I work and then I have thursday off- woot! P.S. I still like watching FRIENDS. Awesome show.

Just a quick update before I head off to work..... I like my new job- I really like working with my clients although I wish there was more money in the social services field because I do get paid crap. Also on that note- I have not actually gotten a "pay check" yet. My first payday is tomorrow although that is just for my one day of orientation so I have to get through another 2 whole weeks without a "normal" income.... it will take, I except, a few of those normal paychecks to bounce us back. Ick. Leo is getting 'A's on his tests-- he works HARD but it is paying off so I am sooo happy about that! Other than that, I have happy to report I have kept up on housework--- usually we let the apartment go for nearly a week until its gross then spend hours cleaning-- where as now I prefer to clean a little bit everyday and so it always looks good and its spread out. Plus, I emptied the vaccum and that alone motivated me to vaccum everyday-- with two people and three animals that is almost a must anyways. After work today I am going to take Sophie on a good walk since yesterday I did not take her on one (I worked and Leo took her outside to pee but not on a walk-- which was the first day she has not had one since moving here so I think thats pretty good) and just chill out. Tomorrow though I may do a little grocery shopping or walking around stores just to get out a bit but we'll see. I have nothing I really need to buy and even food wise we have left overs and I have all the fixings for Jumbalaya once we are ready.
Okay, semi-boring but must get ready- happy monday!

1) what is one thing about you that you hate? I can be really impatient sometimes....esp when I am hungry 2) what is one thing about you that you love? When I dedicate my mind to something I can usually accomplish it. 3) if you had to change one thing about you what would it be and why? I wish I could stand to work more overtime and earn more money but 40 hours a week is eeeenough. 4) what is one word that you would use to define yourself? Indescribable 5) imagine what you would look like in a perfect world...what do you look like? Me, just right now.
